Defining and deploying data and object packages
Moving of data and code from one environment to another, such as from QA to production, is a common process that can be very time consuming. The Remedy Deployment Application provides a single method for promoting definitions and data effectively and reliably across environments.
You can perform the following tasks using Remedy Deployment Application:
- Accessing the AR System Deployment Management console
- Defining a package
- Defining a precheck for deploying a package
- Importing and exporting a package
- Validating a package
- Archiving a package
- Building and deploying packages by using the CLI
To use the Remedy Deployment Application, You must have appropriate permissions. (See Remedy Deployment Application roles and permissions.)

The Remedy Deployment Application plug-in provides the ability to:
- Import and export definitions and data
- Call the Analyzer module to validate that a package meets the required standard
- Add a checksum to the package if the package meets the package requirements
- Verify the checksum for a package
- Encapsulate the contents of a package into a single zip file
- Encapsulate the contents of a package from a single zip file
You must manually move these types of objects between environments:
- Groups
- Roles
- Distributed Pool
