Form to create, delete, maintain, and search alternative approvers

Approvers use the AP:Alternate form to create, delete, maintain, and search alternative approvers to take action on their behalf. However, they are not permitted to define alternative approvers for anyone other than themselves.

Field Description
Alternate Type the AR System user name of the person who is to act as alternate.
For

BMC Remedy AR System automatically populates this field with the user name of the current user.

Note

Only an administrator has write permission for this field.

Start Date Open the calendar control and select the date and time when the alternate's authority begins.
End Date Open the calendar control and select the date and time when the alternate's authority ends.
Notify Alternate

Select whether the alternate is notified when a request comes to the original approver.

  • Yes notifies the alternate when a request is pending.
  • No does not notify the alternate.

To notify alternates, the process administrator must perform the following tasks:

  1. Create notifications on the New Signature notify on event.
  2. Select Enabled Including Alternate on the AP:Admin-Server Settings form.
Covering

Select a value to identify which processes are included in this alternate's authority.

  • All — This alternate has authority to approve all processes for which the original approver has authority.
  • Specific Process — This alternate has authority for only the process specified in the Process field.
Process If you selected Specific Process, select the process for which the alternate has authority.
Process Instance ID BMC Remedy AR System automatically enters the GUID of the process selected in the Process field.
Status

BMC Remedy AR System automatically completes this field based on the server's current date and time.

  • Future — This alternate is not yet active.
  • Current — The alternate is presently active.
  • Past — The alternate is no longer active.
  • Cancelled — The alternate record has been cancelled and the alternate is not active.
Search In Search mode, searches the AP:Alternate form.
Save Save changes and entries to the form.
Close Close the window without making any changes.

Field Description
Alternate ID BMC Remedy AR System populates this field with an AR System ID for this record.
Create Date BMC Remedy AR System populates this field with the date this alternate was created.
Assigned To Type the name of the original approver assigning authority to this alternate. The default is the current user.
Help Text Type information to aid users who are setting up alternates.
Change history Type any additional information to be recorded with the alternate assignment. This information becomes part of the permanent record for this alternate.
Last Modified By BMC Remedy AR System populates this field with the name of the person who last modified this alternate.
Last Modified Date BMC Remedy AR System populates this field with the date of the last modification to this alternate.
