File System plug-in configuration
The File System plug-in provides a file search service in the Microsoft Windows file system and mapped disks. The File System plug-in enables you to search any type of file in the file system, based on search criteria. The File System plug-in receives the search parameters from the AR Vendor form fields and returns the results to the same form.
The plug-in supports different file name qualifications, such as:
- Simple qualification, such as the file extension (for example, .doc or .pdf file extensions)
- Open qualification for a file name written by using a regular-expression syntax
For more information, see http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/essential/regex/intro.html.
The File System plug-in returns the file name, file path, the file, and the date of modification as output. In addition, the plug-in returns document author, title, subject, and keywords as output values for .doc and .pdf files.
Plug-in type
File System is a Java-based ARDBC plug-in.
AR System server connectivity
The File System plug-in interacts with the AR System server through the AR Vendor form that contains input fields for search parameters and output fields for viewing search results. The vendor form that is used is RKM:VF_FileSystem. The File System plug-in (file-system.jar) is installed in the C:\BMC Software\BMCRemedyITSMSuite\Shared_Components\plugins folder.
Configuration information
The configuration information of the File System plug-in is available in the AR System Administration: Plugin Server Configuration form.
The AR System Administration: AR System Configuration Generic UI form includes the Server-Plugin-Alias setting that points to the correct plug-in server alias as follows:
