Accessibility features
BMC Remedy AR System provides many accessibility features when the Accessible Mode user preference is enabled. In some instances, you might need to configure the system to meet accessibility requirements.
Note
To enable Accessible Mode on the Login page, refer Settings in the config.properties file.
Accessibility feature | BMC Remedy AR System functionality | Administrator tasks |
---|---|---|
Text equivalent for images | For images on buttons, a screen reader can interpret the field label. Or alternative text for the image can be specified. | |
Field accessibility |
| You must distinguish required fields from other fields on a form. For example, you can add an asterisk, a plus sign, or another character to the label of required fields. |
Table field row and column identification | A screen reader can interpret table titles, column headers, and row headers. | |
Alternative text for each field | Precedence is given to Alternative text (if defined) instead of the label (that is, the screen reader reads Alternative text instead of the label). | |
Keyboard shortcuts | BMC Remedy AR System Windows clients support keyboard shortcuts. |
Because of a JavaScript <href> reference for the <a> element tags that make up the buttons, JAWS assumes that all buttons have been visited.
Note
JAWS does not automatically read the contents of read-only fields.
