To rename an approval process or form

Note

If you want to rename an approval process or an approval form, you can apply the new process or form name to all existing requests in the process, or only to active requests.

If you want to rename a process or approval form, you must also edit any related workflow, such as the filter that starts the process, to correct the process name.

  1. Open the AP:Administration form.
See Working with the AP-Administration form.
  2. Click Rename in the navigation pane.
The Approval Server Rename dialog box (AP:Admin-Rename form) appears as shown in the following figure.

    Renaming a process
  3. Select Process to rename a process, or select Form to rename a form.
  4. In the Select GUID of the process to be renamed field, click the drop-down menu.
    • If you are renaming an approval process, a list of the existing processes appears by name. Select the process name. BMC Remedy AR System supplies the process GUID. Click the GUID to select the process.
    • If you are renaming a form, a list of all forms on the AR System server appears. Select the approval form to be renamed.
  5. In the Enter new process name or the Enter new form name field, type the new process or form name.
  6. In the Scope of Update field, select whether you want the new name to apply to all requests, or only to active requests.
    • All Requests — This option updates both currently active and completed detail and signature records. This option takes more time but will make sure that all detail records reference the new name.
    • Only Active Requests — This option updates only the currently active detail and signature records.

      Note

If you leave the Scope of Update field blank, approval server considers All Requests to be the default value.

  7. To change the name of the process or object as well as the related requests, the Including Object Itself check box must be selected.
If you have already manually changed the process or form name, clear this check box. In this case, BMC Remedy AR System renames only the related requests, you must enter the current process or form name in the field labeled "Enter new process name" or "Enter new form name."
  8. Click Rename to complete the action.
