Viewing pending More Information requests and responses

When you submit a More Information request, the status of the related approval request changes to More Information. When the recipient responds to the More Information request, the status of the related approval request changes back to Pending.

To view a More Information response

  1. Open Approval Central by using one of the methods described in Opening Approval Central.
  2. Select the appropriate request from the Pending Approvals table, and click Approval Details.
  3. On the AP:Show-Detail form, open the Activity Log tab.
  4. Click the row pertaining to your Question or Comment.
    The response is visible in the appropriate field of the Activity Log Details section.
    You can access More Information requests that you have submitted by finding the related approval request in Approval Central, and clicking Manage More Information in the details view to access the related More Information request.

    Note

    The Manage More Information control is not provided out-of-the-box with BMC Remedy Approval Server; it is only included in the sample applications. To use this control with a customized application, you must add it to the relevant three-way join form.

To view a pending More Information request

  1. Open Approval Central by using one of the methods described in Opening Approval Central.
    By default, the Pending Approvals table displays a predefined number of requests, including those in the Pending, More Information, and Hold states.
  2. To view More Information requests only, click the Needs Attention link in the Summary panel.
    This action also displays only a predefined number of requests at a time.
  3. To view the complete list of More Information requests awaiting your attention, select More Information in the Status field in the Quick search section. The Approval Search Result table displays the requests for which the status is More Information.
  4. In the Approval Search Result table, select a request and click Approval Details.
  5. On the AP:Show-Detail form, open the Activity Log tab.
  6. Click the row pertaining to your Question or Comment.
    The Activity Log Details section displays the corresponding details.
