Running the ViewStat utility
After you upgrade to BMC Remedy AR System 9.1 from the earlier versions you see performance issues while accessing the forms or views. BMC recommends to use the Java based utility to generate a new viewstat file that will allow most efficient use of mid-tier's memory cache and the best form access performance for the end users.
To run viewstat utility
- Stop the Tomcat server for the previously installed versions of BMC Remedy AR System server.
Copy the viewstat file from C:\Program Files\BMC Software\ARSystem\midtier\WEB-INF\classes to any location on the local drive of your computer. For example C:\viewstat.dat
NoteYou should copy the viewstat file from the previously installed version of BMC Remedy AR System.
Run the viewstat utility using the following command:
C:\Program Files\BMC Software\ARSystem\midtier\tools\viewstat>run.bat "C:\viewstat" <server-name>
The Command prompt displays the following message:
Viewstat migrated successfully , New file created C:\viewstat\viewStats_<server-name>.dat
Copy the newly created file to the following location:
C:\Program Files\BMC Software\ARSystem\midtier\WEB-INF\classes\viewServerStats
