Grouping Geo locations into zone templates

A zone is a geographic area that you configure based on a system zone template (such as North America (Western), Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe etc.). For example, you might define a zone for Western North America that monitors only the states of Washington, Oregon, and California. BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring Software Edition provides basic zone templates for major geographic regions, such as continents, which contain smaller areas. Areas within a zone template can be countries, states, provinces, cities, or metro-regional areas.

To monitor traffic in a specific geographic area, you configure a zone, using the zone template that contains it. For example, if you want to monitor traffic from New England, you must configure a zone using the North American (Eastern) template and select some of the following areas:

  • Maine
  • New Hampshire
  • Massachusetts
  • Connecticut
  • Vermont
