Setting and synchronizing time between an Analyzer and Collector

Correctly adjusted timekeeping is critical for analysis of time-sensitive data.

The system displays time as UTC-05:00 (Eastern Time in the Universal Coordinated Time system) by default, and you can change the time zone for the system time.

Note

The system time automatically adjusts for Daylight Saving Time (DST) for any time zone that you selected.

System time

You can observe system time in both the Real User Collector and the Real User Analyzer. You must set up the system time separately for each of these components.

BMC recommends that you keep the difference between system times of the components as small as possible to maintain data integrity. Ensure that the Analyzer and the Collector components are showing the same system time by synchronizing them with the same time server.
