Catalog scan
Catalog scanning uses the CSCAN command and the Catalog Scan facility:
CSCAN identifies each catalog, VSAM volume data set (VVDS), and alias in the master catalog.
When active, the Catalog Scan performance facility collects catalog query request times for each identified catalog and alias. The SVCPF component of the BMC AMI Storage Reporting product starts and stops Catalog Scan performance facility.
