Creating qualification rules for reconciliation activities

You can create a qualification rule to limit the number of instances that a reconciliation activity processes. You must create a rule group and add one or more qualification rules to it. The interface enables you to add the qualification rules interactively, instead of manually entering the entire expression.

To create qualification rules for reconciliation activities

  1. On CMDB Portal, click Configurations.
  2. From the list, select Manage Reconciliation Rules > Qualification Rules.
  3. Click Add Ruleset to create a rule group.
  4. Enter a Ruleset Name, and click Save
  5. Click Add Qualification Rule to add a new qualification rule to the current ruleset.
  6. In the Create Qualification Rule section, configure the following fields:
    1. Enter a unique Rule Name.
    2. By default, the rule is active after saving it. Toggle the Active button for it to be inactive.
    3. Select the Class Name for which the rule applies.
    4. Enter a brief Description for the rule.
  7. Click  to open the Qualification builder.

  8. To build a qualification rule, do the following steps:
    1. Click Allow Manual Edit if you want to manually enter the qualification rule. This option eliminates the need to insert attribute names and operators by clicking them.
    2. Expand the KeywordsPallet section, and if you want to insert a displayed keyword such as LOCALE or NULL in the rule, click the keyword.
    3. In the Attributes section, click As Name if you want to insert an attribute name (for example, AccountID), or click As Value if you want to insert the value of an attribute (for example, $AccountID$) in the qualification rule.
    4. From the attributes list, click the required attribute to insert it in the rule.
    5. To build the rule expression, click an appropriate operator, such as AND, OR, and so on.
  9. After you build a valid rule, click Save.
  10. Optionally, if you want to add more rules to the same rule group, repeat steps 5 through 9.
