Providing ITSM with access to CMDB

In some scenarios where ITSM needs to access CMDB such as when running REST APIs, you must first add the CMDB sign in credentials in the System Settings form. For integration with Proactive Service Resolution, you must enter the CMDB sign in credentials to allow ITSM to access CMDB.

To provide ITSM with access to CMDB

  1. Log in to the ITSM application.
  2. Use the following direct access URL to open the System Settings form: 
    https://<iTSMServer>/arsys/forms/<ARServer>/SYS%3ASystem+Settings/Default+User+View/
  3. Enter the credentials to access BMC CMDB.
    The CMDB URL is of the format http://<ARServer>:<jettyPort> or https://<ARServer>:<jettyPort>, where the Jetty port is typically 8008.
    If you are a SaaS customer, the URL might be similar to this format: <company-restapi>.onbmc.com
