Configuring the default web path of the Mid Tier server in AR System Administration Console

To allow users to select a single CI displayed in the CMDB Explorer and then edit its attributes and relationships, you must first perform the steps mentioned in this section.

Before you begin

You must configure Remedy Single Sign-On (Remedy SSO). If you do not configure RSSO, you must enter the mid-tier log in credentials after right-clicking the CI and then selecting Edit Instance

To configure the default web path of the AR server for editing CIs

  1. Access the BMC Remedy AR System using the URL:
    http://<midTierServer>:<port>/arsys/

  2. When prompted, enter your BMC Remedy AR System user name and password.

  3. From the AR System Administration Console, select System > General > Server Information.

  4. Click the Advanced tab.

  5. In the Default Web Path field, enter the fully qualified domain name of the Mid Tier server.
For example, if calbro-sys-ab is the Mid Tier server and the port used is 9292, enter:
    http://calbro-sys-ab:9292>/arsys/

  6. Click Apply.

  7. Close the console.

Users can now right-click a CI when in edit mode and select Edit Instance. The CI attributes automatically open in mid-tier where the attributes can be edited.
