Configuring the server to allow the editing of a CI

You can enable the Modeling Studio link in the Explorer to allow users to select a single CI for editing.

The Modeling Studio link opens the CI in the old flex UI where users can edit it in sandbox mode.

Note

After configuring, the Modeling Studio link is available only when users select a single CI.

Before you begin

You must configure Remedy Single Sign-On (Remedy SSO). If you do not configure RSSO, users must enter the Mid Tier log in credentials after clicking the Modeling Studio link.

To configure the server to allow the editing of a CI

  1. Access the BMC Remedy AR System using the URL:

    http://<midTierserverName>:<port>/arsys/

  2. When prompted, enter your BMC Remedy AR System user name and password.

  3. From the AR System Administration Console, select System > General > Server Information.

  4. Click the Advanced tab.

This image shows the advanced tab in the Server Information form

  5. In the Default Web Path field, enter the fully qualified domain name of the Mid Tier server.

For example, if calbro-sys-ab is the Mid Tier server and the port used is 9292, enter:
    http://calbro-sys-ab:9292>/arsys/

  6. Click Apply.

  7. Close the console.

Users now see the Modeling Studio link in the Explorer.
