This section contains information about enhancements in version 18.08 of BMC CMDB.
Configurable Key Performance Indicators
You can configure the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for CMDB, which are Integrity and Completeness. You can define the classes that you want to exclude while processing CIs for Integrity and Completeness. You can also exclude datasets and classes while processing the Datasources utility. The classes and CIs that are excluded are shown as tool tips on the CMDB Dashboard.
For more information, see
Permissions for the new CMDB UI
You can assign users to groups on the AR server to restrict users' access to specific features of the new CMDB UI. For more information see, Providing users with permissions to access the new CMDB UI using groups and roles.
What's changed in this release
|Enhancement||Product behavior in versions earlier than 18.08||Product behavior in version 18.08|
|Permissions to access the new CMDB UI||You had to assign full administrator permissions to users who accessed the new CMDB UI.||You can add users to permission groups in the AR server to restrict their access to certain areas of the new CMDB UI.|
|Exclusion of Overlay datasets while processing the Datasources utility|
The Overlay datasets were included by default while executing the Datasources utility and there was no option to exclude overlay datasets from being processed.
Now, there is an option to include or exclude the processing of Overlay datasets. By default, it is excluded. This helps to reduce the time taken to perform health checks.
|Changes to Integrity KPI calculations|
While calculating the Integrity KPI, duplicate CIs were considered in the calculation even though the processing of duplicate CIs was disabled.
Similarly, for calculating Orphan CIs, both strong and weak classes were considered in the calculation.
The Integrity KPI is now calculated without taking duplicate CIs into account if processing of duplicate CIs is disabled.
Similarly, while calculating orphaned CIs, only weak classes are considered in the calculation.
