Dynamic target support in OA Virtual Server Management

The Virtual Server Management module supports dynamic targeting, which provides the ability to communicate with multiple virtual centers in VMware environments.

To use dynamic targeting, you must pass the following connection details for the target virtual center in the workflow input:

  • soap URL
  • username
  • password
  • transport

The following figure shows the elements that can be specified in the request.

These parameters are optional. If you do not pass these parameters in the workflow input, you must pass the virtual center input parameter. In this case, the connection details parameters for the specified virtual center are extracted from the module configuration.

The following figure shows the virtual center details as displayed in the module configuration:

This scenario requires that the connection details for the specified virtual center are configured in the Virtual Server Management module configuration.

If the soap URL, username, password, transport parameters or virtual center name is not passed, then the workflow communicates with the virtual center specified in the adapter configuration.

The following shows the adapter configured in the module configuration.
