Virtual Server Management module configuration

The Virtual Server Management module contains configuration information that is used by the workflows. The module provides complete configurations for BMC BladeLogic and VMware environments.

To view the module configuration

  1. Using TrueSight Orchestration Development Studio Project Navigator, open the Virtual Server Management module, and double-click configuration.
  2. Select BladeLogic or VMware to review the configuration settings for each environment.

The following tables detail the default Virtual Server Management module configuration values in a BMC BladeLogic environment and in a VMware environment.

Contains a list of virtual center configurations:

  • Virtual_Center_1
  • Name: Specifies the host name or IP address of the computer hosting the virtual center
  • SOAP_URL: Specifies the SOAP URL to the virtual center
  • User_Name: Specifies the user name required to log on to the virtual center
  • Password: Specifies the password corresponding to the user name
  • Transport: https-rpc

The VMware environment module configuration requires a separate configuration container for each virtual center.

To add a virtual center to the module configuration

  1. Click the Add Container button, and provide a name for the virtual center container. The configuration group name must begin with Virtual_Center (for example, Virtual_Center_1 ).
  2. Save the configuration.
  3. Select the container, and then click the Add Configuration Item icon.
  4. Add the configuration item name, select the type, and enter a value. You must include the following configuration items:
    • SOAP_URL
    • User_Name
    • Password
    • Transport
  5. Save the configuration.
  6. Repeat step 3 through step 5 until you have completed adding the configuration items.
