Adding or editing an SNMP manager station

  1. Open the SNMP Manager Stations page by navigating to Admin > Network Admin > SNMP Managers.
  2. Perform one of the following actions:
    • To define a new SNMP Manager station, click Add. The Add SNMP Manager Station page is displayed.
    • To create a new SNMP Manager station by duplicating and editing an existing SNMP Manager station, click  Copy.
    • To edit an existing SNMP Manager station, click  Edit.

      Tip

      To help you identify an SNMP Manager station that you want to copy or edit, you can display a summary of the attributes of an SNMP Manager station by clicking  View.


      These are the defaults for SNMP versions v1 and v2C. When you select version v3 and various authentication schemes, the page appears as shown in the following figure:

  3. Enter or update the information in the following fields:

    Field

    Description

    Address

    Specify a unique hostname or IPv4 or IPv6 address of the SNMP Manager Station.

    Port

    Specify the UDP port that is used to communicate with the SNMP Manager Station (default 162).

    Version

    Specify the SNMP version supported by the SNMP Manager Station, v1, v2c or v3.

    Trap Community

    (Required for SNMP v1 and v2C) Specify the trap community name.

    Engine ID

    (Required for SNMP v3) Specify the snmpEngineID of the SNMP Manager Station in hexadecimal format (0x1234567890ab). See RFC 3411.

    User Name

    (Required for SNMP v3) Specify the user name required to connect to the SNMP Manager Station.

    Authentication Algorithm

    (Required for SNMP v3) Select the authentication algorithm required to connect to the SNMP Manager Station, one of NoAuth, or SHA (default NoAuth).

    Authentication Password

    (Required for SNMP v3 with authentication) Specify the authentication password required to connect to the SNMP Manager Station.

    Privileged Algorithm

    (Required for SNMP v3) Select the privileged algorithm required to connect to the SNMP Manager Station, one of NoPriv, AES, AES192, or AES256 (default NoPriv).

    Privileged Password

    (Required for SNMP v3 with authentication) Specify the privileged password required to connect to the SNMP Manager Station.

    User Assigned Dynamic Fields

    Enter the appropriate information for these user-defined fields.

  4. Click Save to save your SNMP manager station.
