Preparing to apply feature packs or fix packs on IT Data Analytics
Before applying feature packs or fix packs on the IT Data Analytics components, ensure that you review and complete the following prerequisite activities and requirements.
- Ensure that TrueSight IT Data Analytics version 11.3.01 is installed.
- Ensure that the following default environment variables are set:
- (Windows)
%BMC_ITDA_HOME%
- (Linux)
$BMC_ITDA_HOME
These variables are automatically set when you apply feature packs or fix packs on IT Data Analytics
- (Windows)
- If you have custom certificates in the bmcitda.jks keystore, ensure that you take a backup of this keystore before applying the fix pack or feature pack:
- (Windows) <ITDA_INSTALLER_DIRECTORY>\tomcat\conf\bmcitda.jks
- (Linux) <ITDA_INSTALLER_DIRECTORY>/tomcat/conf/bmcitda.jks
Restore the backed up keystore file, and restart the IT Data Analytics server after applying the feature pack or fix pack.
Back up the configuration files and database.
Running the feature pack or fix pack installer creates a backup of the existing files, which you can use to revert the upgrade in case of an error. The backup is created in the following location:- (Windows) <ITDA_INSTALLER_DIRECTORY>\backup_ITDA_<ComponentName>_11.3.01\YYYY_MM_DD_HH_MM_SS>
- (Linux) <ITDA_INSTALLER_DIRECTORY>/backup_ITDA_<ComponentName>_11.3.01/YYYY_MM_DD_HH_MM_SS>
