Installing the Atrium Orchestrator Content for the Triage and Remediation solution

Note

Atrium Orchestrator integration is available in version 11.0.00.02 and later.

The Atrium Orchestrator Content Installer automates the installation of the adapters, modules, run books, Remedy AR artifacts, and Remedy ITSM templates that are required by the Triage and Remediation Solution.

Depending on the installation path chosen, you may not see all of the components listed in the following table during the various component selection screens or the installation preview screen. The Solution installation path installs all required components; the Custom feature set provides all component options. 


Selecting the BSM Solutions installation path preselects and installs the content listed in the following table.

  Downloading the Content Installer

The Atrium Orchestrator Content Installer is available from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website at http://webapps.bmc.com/epd. You can obtain the installer in the following ways:

  • To download the product, use the user name and password that your BMC sales representative provided.
  • If you do not have a current license for the product, or if you cannot download the product and require a kit, contact a BMC sales representative by calling 800 793 4262.

Note

The secure BMC Customer Support website requires that you enter the user name and password that you received when you purchased the product.



The content installation program installs Atrium Orchestrator content in all the platforms supported by Atrium Orchestrator version 7.6.02 SP2, including the Windows, Red Hat Linux, or Oracle Solaris environments. When downloading the content installation files, verify that you download the correct installer for your environment.

 Installation paths

The Atrium Orchestrator Content Installer presents two installation paths that you can choose. You can install only one solution at a time.

Note

When installing Atrium Orchestrator content for use with a BMC solution, BMC recommends that you select the BSM Solutions installation path. However, if you do not want to install Remedy ITSM, use the Custom feature set installation path to install the Atrium Orchestrator content.

BSM Solutions installation path

The BSM Solutions installation path preselects the content components required for your solution. Using this installation path enables the Atrium Orchestrator content installer to install all the dependent adapters and modules. The installer also verifies that you have the correct versions of Remedy ARS, Remedy ITSM, and Atrium CMDB installed. 

During the BSM Solutions installation, Atrium Orchestrator exports all the templates required for the solution to Remedy ITSM. The Content Installer prompts you for the ITSM server configuration parameters and ITSM template fields. After the BSM Solutions has been installed successfully, verify whether the user name in the Remedy ITSM task templates exists in the Remedy ITSM.

Tip

When installing Atrium Orchestrator content for use with a BMC solution, BMC recommends that you use the BSM Solutions installation path. You can resort to the custom feature set installation path if the BSM Solutions installation path fails. Contact BMC Customer Support if the BSM Solutions installation path fails.

 Custom feature set installation path

The Custom feature set installation path does not preselect solutions content. The Custom feature set option provides a path for you to select components to install, even if the option is not required for Triage and Remediation Solution. For details, see Installing the Atrium Orchestrator content by using the Custom feature set path.

Note

The Custom feature set installation path will not install and configure Remedy ITSM artifacts.

 Running the installer

After you download the Atrium Orchestrator Content Installer file, follow the installation instructions specific to your operating system platform.

Note

You will need a graphical user interface (GUI) tool to run the content installation file in a Red Hat Linux or Oracle Solaris environment. Remote Linux installations need to use X Windows or a VNC to complete the installation.
