Creating dataviews

Dataview schema and views described in Dataview Tables are created during product installation.

You can create the schema manually by using the pw dataview create command line option. For details about this command line option, see pw dataview.

Because custom monitor schemas are created at run-time, you need to use the command line option to reflect this schema in the dataviews. This step is also necessary if you make any updates to the custom monitor definition. Using the command line option, you can generate the Data Dictionary that explains each of the dataviews tables and columns. Similarly, the stats data column description in the Data Dictionary matches with the description of the performance data collected for each of the monitors.

The best way to find out which column represents the data of interest is to cross reference attribute names from Key Performance Indicator attributes to the description in the Data Dictionary.
