Choosing the console type

 

The operator console provides options to navigate through the system and view related information. Several console views are available based on assigned access rights. 

You can select the appropriate console type from the Change Console list at the top of the Operations Console. The following table lists the console types available and the characteristics of each type.

Operations Console

Displays an integrated view of all the events, abnormalities, services, groups, devices, and monitors. The Operations Console is the default console displayed when you log on to Infrastructure Management. To change this setting, see To set the default logon console.

SLO Management Console

Displays an integrated view of all Service Level Objectives (SLOs)
These business views help define, measure, and track SLOs.

Setting the default logon console

  1. From the Operations Console menu bar, click Options.
  2. In the General tab, under Layout Preferences, select the console type that you want to set as the default when you log on.
  3. Click Apply.

Changing the default Home Console

The default console for a single server is Event Collectors with the Event view.

The default console for a Central server is Global Console with Cloud Resource.

To change the default Home Console that appears when you log on to the Operations Console, perform the following steps:

  1. From the Operations Console menu bar, click Options and then the Operations tab.

  2. Select the desired option from the Home Console box.

  3. You can also set the default Home Page and Home Type.

    The Home Page and Home Type views that appear depend on the Home Console you select.

  4. Click Apply and close the Options window.

You can only change the default Home Console on a Central server and not on a single server.
