Verifying the upgrade of the Application Server components

Before configuring or using the product after an upgrade, perform the following procedures to ensure that the installation program successfully upgraded the Application Server components:

Before you begin

Before verifying the Application Server upgrade, you must complete the procedures described in Upgrading the Application Server components and (if necessary) Upgrading Application Server components on additional computers.

To verify that TrueSight Capacity Optimization services are running

  1. At $CPITBASE, type ./cpit status.
    A list of installed TrueSight Capacity Optimization services and their current status is displayed.

  2. Verify that all installed TrueSight Capacity Optimization services are RUNNING.

    The following table lists TrueSight Capacity Optimization components and the services that correspond to each component:

    For example, if you have installed a Primary Scheduler and the Data Hub, verify that the Scheduler, Data Hub, and Httpd services, are RUNNING; if you have enabled the Service Container component, verify that the Service Container is also RUNNING.

To verify that the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console functions properly

  1. From a supported browser, enter the FQDN of the TrueSight Capacity Optimization based on the protocol selected during the installation:

    https://<FQDN>:8443/console

    http://<FQDN>:8000/console

    Tips

    - Use only the FQDN in the URL to access the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console.

    - Prior to upgrading TrueSight Capacity Optimization, if you were using an IP address to access the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console, then the IP address must be mapped to the FQDN hostname in the local \etc\hosts file. This is applicable for both Windows and Linux hosts.

    - The browser cookie domain assigned to FQDN should be same between the Remedy Single Sign-On, the Presentation Server, and the Application Server.

  2. Verify that the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console is displayed, and then log on with the following default credentials:
    Username: admin
    Password: admin12345

    BMC recommends that you change the password for admin immediately after installation. For information about how to change the password for a user account, see Configuring users and user groups.

  3. Verify that the Welcome page is displayed.

    Additional information

    A message is displayed if the date and time of the Application Server and database are not in sync. You must sync the date and time on both the servers.
