Editing entity, metric and, subresource filters for an analysis

In the Entity, metric and subresource filters tab, you can set parameters that are used to filter the resources investigated in an analysis. For more information, refer to the following section.

To edit entity, metric, and subresource filters for an analysis

  1. In the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console, navigate to Workspace > All Domains > Domain > Works.
  2. Click on an Analysis whose chart options you want to modify. The analysis details page is displayed on the right.
  3. Click EditThe Edit analysis page is displayed.
  4. Click Advanced.
  5. Expand the Entity, metric and subresource filters tab and edit/set the following properties:

    Property

    Description

    System/Business Driver type filterSelect the system or business driver type filters that should be displayed. Click Edit to select and add more filters.
    Metric/Formula filterSelect the metrics or formulas you want to include to or remove from the analysis. All available items are grouped by category and type. Within each category, you can select multiple items with a single click. You can also search for available items to include in your analysis by using the Search box under Available items. After you have selected your items, click >> to move them to Selected items, and then click Apply to commit your action.
    System/Business Driver filterRestrict the systems or business drivers to be taken into account. Click Edit to select and add more filters.
    System/Business Driver subresource filterRestrict the system or business driver subresources to be taken into account. Click Edit to select and add more filters.
    Select only subresources likeType a name that uses SQL syntax to select subresources named like this. For example, if you type %GLOBA%, all subresources starting with GLOBA, like GLOBAL, within the specified filters, will be plotted.

    System/Business Driver location filterRestrict the analysis to systems or business drivers at the selected location.
    Extract series from child/parent system/business drivers
    Extract series from child/parent system/business drivers
          
    Select one of the following options to decide if the series will be extracted from child system or business drivers, OR if it will be extracted from child and parent system or business drivers.

    Children/parents - parentship types (leave empty for all)Select a children/parent parentship type from the picker control. Use Ctrl+click to select multiple types, or none to select all.
    Children/parents - parentship visibility

    Select any one of the following options:

    • Any
    • Visible in the tree: Parentship will be visible in the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization hierarchy.
    • Not visible in the tree: Parentship will not be visible in the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization hierarchy.
    Children/parents - type filterSelect children/parent types from Available items and click >> to move them to Selected items, then click Apply.
  6. Click Save or continue with Time filter options.
