Configuring the Donut charts template
The Donut charts template is a summary type template that displays metrics and indicators in the form of donuts. For example, you can display the ranking of capacity pools based on Usage, Risk, and Efficiency scores, in the form of donuts.
This topic describes how to configure a custom view, or view page, created using the Donuts charts template.
To configure a view using the Donut charts template
After you create a custom view, or add a page to a custom view, using the Donut charts template, perform the following steps to configure it.
Open the view page with the Donut charts template:
In the view page, specify the following information:
Title: Type a title for the page
All elements label: Type a name in the box that indicates the total number of elements in the page.
Favorites elements label: Type a name in the box that indicates the number of favorite elements in the page.
Datamart: Select an existing data mart from the list to show data on the page. In addition you can add a new data mart according to your requirements. For more details, see Creating a SQL-based data mart for a custom view in the TrueSight console.
Datamart filters: Select from the predefined data mart filters that are based on the data mart columns. This helps to further refine the scope of your analysis and makes it easier to work on a subset of data.
Three filters, Filter 1, Filter 2 and Filter 3 are available. What you select in the first filter determines what will be available for selection in the consecutive filters. For example, if you select ClusterABC from Filter 1, Filter 2 lists the hosts that are contained in ClusterABC that you can choose from. Similarly, if you select HostABC from Filter 2, then Filter 3 lists the parameters of HostABC to choose from.
Filters are stored when you navigate back to the previous page, and you can also bookmark them in your browser.
To edit the indicators component, click.
In the edit box at the bottom, fill in the following properties:
Column for box title: Select an option from the list.
Select drill down page to enable a link on the title of the box: Select the page to display when you click the title of the box.
Indicators: By default, three indicator boxes are displayed. Select an indicator for each box from the list.
You can add more indicators by clicking + Add indicator. You can also delete an indicator by clicking X at the top-right of that indicator box.
After you select an indicator from the available list, click the Edit parameters link to configure it further.
In the Edit IndicatorName parameters section, specify the threshold values for that indicator. You can specify Good threshold and Warn threshold and Max value.
You can select from the available threshold values in the list, or directly type a value.
After you complete editing parameters for that column, click Done to return to the previous section. You can edit the parameters for the remaining columns and then click Done again to return to the previous edit screen.
Click Apply. The changes are updated dynamically in the view, and you continue to be in the edit mode.
Clicking Apply displays a live preview of your configuration, without saving the changes. This live update helps you to review your changes, and if required, quickly make further changes as you continue to be in the edit mode.
(Optional) To add custom text when you configure a new template or add a new page, click Add custom text.
To update existing custom text, click Edit the page, and then in the custom text panel, click Change.
For more information, see Managing custom text on a view page.
If you are satisfied with the changes, and do not want to edit the page further, click Save.
The custom view page is created with the defined configuration.
