Uninstalling the WebSphere MQ configuration and monitoring extensions

To uninstall the extensions from a Windows platform

  1. Stop monitoring on the extension you want to uninstall. If you do not stop the monitoring, the item appears in the TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor Management Console after it is removed.
  2. Stop the extensions and uninstall them:
    • Enter qpcfg --status to check that the extension is stopped. If it is running, enter qpcfg --stop. Then enter qpcfg --remove.
    • Enter qpmon --status to check that the extension is stopped. If it is running, enter qpmon --stop. Then enter qpmon --remove.

To uninstall the extensions from a UNIX platform

  1. Stop monitoring on the extension you want to uninstall (via the Object Repository tab). If you do not stop the monitoring, the item appears in the TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor Management Console after it is removed. 
  2. Stop the extensions and, if no longer needed for other extension monitoring, stop qpea and uninstall by deleting the distribution directory.

To uninstall the extensions from a z/OS platform

If you are reinstalling or upgrading and want to keep your existing configuration settings, create a backup copy of your existing EAAXML member.

  1. Delete the agent's node by accessing the Object Repository tab in the Management Console, right-clicking on the agent and clicking Deprecate Agent.
  2. Stop the monitoring on the extension you want to delete. If you do not stop the monitoring, the item appears in the TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor Management Console even after it is deleted.

    These files or members must be removed from the z/OS platform. Ensure when you are removing files or members with common names that you are deleting the files or members associated with TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor.

  3. Remove the following files:
    • HLQ.RECV.JCL
    • HLQ.INSTALL.CNTL
    • HLQ.INSTALL.XMIT
    • HLQ.EAAXML
    • HLQ.RTSPCHCK
    • HLQ.RTSPXML

  4. From your system procedure library, remove the JCL procedures that execute these programs:
    • QPEA
    • QPCFG
    • QPMON
    • QPBTM

  5. Update SYS1.PARMLIB member PROGxx. Remove the TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor load library from the APF authorization list.
  6. Delete the TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor load library.

To uninstall the extensions from an i5/OS platform 

If you are reinstalling or upgrading and want to keep your existing configuration settings, create a backup copy of your existing EAA.XML file.

  1. Stop the monitoring on the extension you want to delete. If you do not stop the monitoring, the item appears in the TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor Management Console even after it is deleted.
  2. Stop the agent.
  3. Remove the agent node from monitoring by accessing the Object Repository tab in the Management Console, right-clicking on the node and choosing Deprecate Agent.
  4. Enter DLTLIB QPASA to delete the library. If you used a library name other than QPASA, replace QPASA with the name of your library.
  5. Delete the following objects from the root directory of IFS on the i5/OS system:
    • EAA.XML
    • QPCONF.DEF
  6. If they exist, delete the following files from root directory of IFS:
    • qpcfg.lock
    • qpcfg.log
    • qpea.log
    • qpea.lock
    • qpmon.log
    • qpmon.lock
    • QPLog.ini
