Trend chart

A trend chart is a graphical presentation of trending data from the attribute you are monitoring. It is dynamic and moves to keep a defined window of time reported. If you scroll back in time, the chart does not update until returned to the present time.

The maximum number of attributes a trend chart can monitor is 10.

  • Purpose: High-resolution real-time data
  • Tabs:
    • Location and Size
    • Tooltip
    • Chart Colors
    • Data Properties
    • Border
    • Font
    • General
    • X Scale
    • Y Scale
    • Appearance (which includes two sub tabs: Frame and Background)
  • Example: In the Message Rates tab for queues (the message enqueue/dequeue rates trend chart).

Note

If a trend chart is not showing changes, check that your Y axis is set to autoscale.
  • In edit mode: To add a trend chart, click on the Trend Chart button, then drag your mouse to define the size of the trend chart. Make the chart holder large enough to present readable information. Drag an attribute onto it to associate it with the trend chart. You can add a title to your trend chart. If you do not create a title, the trend chart is titled with the name of the first attribute associated with it.
  • Not in edit mode: To read the values of a trend chart, make sure you are not in edit mode, then click on the chart and a pop-up window displays the trend values at that location.
