Managing the product from a Command Line Interface
Although you can navigate the user interface to perform most administrative tasks, you can also perform the following tasks to manage and maintain the TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor environment from the Command Line Interface (CLI):
- Creating or deleting multiple event or history template associations with the CLI — create or delete multiple event or history template associations in a group
- Exporting and importing Monitor Console environmental components with the CLI — export and import Monitor Console environmental components using the mqsexport and mqsimport utilities
- Exporting event journal records and handling console alerts with the CLI — gather information to help troubleshoot event or console alert issues
- Listing and revoking certificates with the CLI — list or revoke certificates issued to TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor agents
- Managing dashboards and collections with the CLI — list dashboards and view collections, as well as add objects to or remove objects from a dashboard
- Managing event suppression with the CLI — prevent unwanted notifications during routine maintenance, scheduled downtime, or other times
- Managing hosts with the CLI — add or remove entries from the Hosts table in the database
- Managing integration with TrueSight Middleware Administrator with the CLI — manage integration with TrueSight Middleware Administrator using the mqtool utility
- Managing objects in the object repository with the CLI — query and act on objects in the Object Repository
- Managing policies with the CLI — list policy objects, evaluate policies or objects, or evaluate policies or objects and apply the evaluated actions
- Managing security information with mqsusertool command line tool — manage TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor security information
- Managing the agent and extension package distributions with the CLI — manage the agent and extension package
- Testing and querying audit records — test the creation of audit records or create your own when scripting other operations
