TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor (TMTM) Agent extensions, or extensions, are customized for the monitored applications and automatically discover and monitor their underlying objects. The extensions pass the collected data to the Agent, which in turn forwards it on to the TMTM Topic Service and then on to the Monitor Console.
Unless specifically noted, the TMTM extensions monitor only those versions supported by the manufacturer. To view a list of the supported platforms and technologies, see Supported middleware monitoring technologies for performance and availability and Supported application transaction tracing technologies for transaction monitoring.
The TMTM product provides the extensions listed in the following tables.
Performance and availability extensions
|IBM WebSphere MQ configuration and monitoring extensions|
The WebSphere MQ configuration extension allows you to configure your WebSphere MQ environment.
The WebSphere MQ monitoring extension collects information from various WebSphere MQ properties.
|MainView for WebSphere MQ||Collects performance and availability data from MainView for WebSphere MQ (MVMQ) via the view-based API component.|
|Oracle WebLogic||Monitors and reports activity from WebLogic servers.|
|IBM HTTP Server||Monitors and reports activity from IBM HTTP Server for WebSphere Application Server.|
|TIBCO EMS||Monitors and reports activity from TIBCO EMS servers.|
|TIBCO Rendezvous||Monitors and reports activity from TIBCO Rendezvous daemons.|
|IBM WebSphere Application Server||Monitors and reports activity from WebSphere Application Server.|
|IBM WebSphere Message Broker||Provides status monitoring for brokers, execution groups, applications, libraries and message flows, as well as performance monitoring for execution groups, applications, libraries and message flows.|
|IBM WebSphere MQ on TPF||Runs on Windows and uses TCP/IP to pass commands to the TPF Windows host through the IPBridge, which then communicates with TMTM.|
|IBM DataPower||Collects messages from various sources (HTTP, MQ, TIBCO EMS, WAS SIB).|
Transaction monitoring extensions
|Apache Web Server||Monitors and reports transaction activity from Apache Web servers.|
|Microsoft Internet Information Service||Monitors and reports transaction activity on Microsoft IIS.|
|Sun Java System Web Server||Monitors and reports transaction activity on Sun Java System Web servers.|
|WebSphere Message Broker Exit|
Monitors when messages are read into the input node of a flow, when messages enter a WMB node through an input terminal, and when messages leave a WMB node through an output terminal.
|IBM WebSphere MQ|
Monitors messages output via put or put1 APIs using a queue or topic, and messages input via get or callback APIs using a queue or topic.
|API for Java||Provides the mechanism for an instrumented application or activity to communicate business transaction information to TMTM.||Running the BTM API for Java|
|API for Java using JMX||Provides the mechanism for an instrumented application or activity to communicate business transaction information to TMTM.||Running the BTM API for Java using JMX|
|API for Java EE||Provides the mechanism for an instrumented application or activity to communicate business transaction information to TMTM.||Running the BTM API for Java EE|
|Java EE JMS Destination||Provides the capability to consume JMS messages delivered to a JMS destination (queue or topic) within a Java EE Application Server.|
|Servlet Filter||Monitors a Java EE servlet running within either a Java EE Application Server, or a Java EE Servlet Container.|
|TIBCO BusinessWorks||Monitors business transactions within TIBCO BusinessWorks.||Running the TIBCO BusinessWorks BTM extension|
|TIBCO EMS||Monitors TIBCO EMS servers by attaching to the EMS servers and monitoring the traffic flowing through them.||Running the TIBCO EMS BTM extension|
