Copying files to the agent machine
This procedure describes the generic process for distributing files manually using FTP to any agent machine. Before starting the FTP process, ensure the agent machine operating system is supported.
Open a command prompt and change to the installation drive. If you installed TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor on drive C on the Windows system, enter C:
Change to the TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor directory that contains the agent files. If you installed TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor to C:\TMTM, then the files are located in C:\TMTM\AGENT_DIST\<version>\<operating system> (see also Organization-of-the-AGENT_DIST-directory-on-the-server-machine).
Start an FTP client and connect to the agent machine (host). See Using a command line FTP client for instructions on using a command line FTP.
Enter your user name and password for the remote system.
Navigate to the directory where the agent files reside. If necessary, create a directory for the distributed files. Typically, you can name this directory agent. This directory is used only to store the distributed files which you later manually install on the agent machine.
Verify that all of the files listed in the following sections were transferred to the agent machine.
