Capturing a VM and staging it as a template and a VGP

This scenario walks you through capturing a virtual machine (VM) as an .ovf file, then staging it as a template and a Virtual Guest Package (VGP).

1. To capture and stage a VM, use the captureAndStageVM command. This command takes three arguments:
   • groupName — Pparent group for this job
   • jobName — Name of the job
   • inputFile — Input file path
     The input file contains all the specifications for the job, so the first step is to create the input file, as described in Creating the input file.
2. Run the captureAndStageVM command, as described in Running the captureAndStageVM command.
3. Check job results, as described in Checking the job results.
