Downloading the patch
Patch 1 for version 8.6.01 includes full installers for all components. You can download the files for version 8.6.01.001 from the BMC Server Automation 8.6.01 download page at the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website.

Installing the patch as a fresh product installation
If you are installing this patch as a fresh product installation, download the Patch files and then follow the instructions in Installing individual components.

Download and extract the option file and run these scripts as the BMC Server Automation database owner (as provided to blasadmin).
Upgrading to the patch
You can upgrade to this patch from version 8.6.01 only.
The upgrade steps for this patch depend on the BMC Server Automation from which you are upgrading. If you are on 8.3.x and 8.5.x versions, first upgrade to version 8.6.01 and then upgrade to this patch. Note the upgrade paths defined in the following table:

Upgrading from 8.3.x or earlier
If you need to upgrade from a BMC Server Automation version earlier than 8.3, you must first upgrade to the latest 8.5 service pack, as discussed in the Upgrading section of the BMC Server Automation 8.5 online documentation. Afterwards, you can upgrade from version 8.5.xx to 8.6 SP1.
Upgrading from 8.3.x or 8.5.x
If you are running BMC Server Automation 8.3.x or 8.5.x:
For 64-bit Linux and Windows platforms, you can use the unified product installer to upgrade to version 8.6 SP1, as described in Upgrading to version 8.6 SP1 for Microsoft Windows and Linux.
For Solaris platforms, use the manual upgrade process described in Upgrading to version 8.6 SP1 for Solaris.
