Server browse options

You can browse any server in the Servers folder by right-clicking the server and selecting Browse.

A tab showing the server's name opens in the content editor. At the bottom of the tab, there are four sub-tabs:

  • Live browse — Shows a hierarchical tree consisting of multiple nodes. Each node represents a type of server object found on that server. The tree also shows any components and extended objects associated with the server. You can expand any node in the live browse list to see a list of server objects, such as Security Hotfixes or RPMs. For a list of all the objects you can browse, see Contents of the Live node.

    Note

In earlier releases, BMC Server Automation referred to custom configuration objects as custom server objects.

If an extended object is associated with an operating system, that extended object appears as a child of the Extended Object node. If an extended object is not associated with a particular operating system, the extended object appears at the same level in the hierarchical tree as the Extended Object node. In other words, the object is a sibling of the Extended Object node.

  • Activity — Shows job activity that has occurred on the server. For more information, see Viewing job activity.
  • Snapshot Results — Shows the results of all Snapshot Jobs involving the server. For more information, see Viewing snapshot and change tracking results.
  • Audit Results — Shows the results of all Audit Jobs involving the server. For more information, see Viewing audit results by object and Viewing audit results by server.
