Adding or modifying local properties

You can add a local property to a component template or modify an existing local property.

Note

You cannot delete a local property if it is referenced by any component part, signature condition, compliance rule, or other local property, or if instances of a local property set exist where a value is defined for the local property that you want to delete.

To add or modify a local property in a component template

  1. On the content editor, click the Local Properties tab.
  2. Use the Definition tab to add a local property to the component template or modify an existing local property.
  3. Click in the Value column for the property that you want to edit.
The Value field becomes active, and it displays utilities for editing the selected property value.
  4. Do any of the following:
    • To set a property value back to its default value, click Reset to Default Valueg_V95_reset_icon.gif.
The value of the property is reset to the value it inherits from a built-in property class. The Value Source column shows the property class from which the value is inherited.
    • Depending on the type of property you are editing, you can take different actions to set a new value, such as entering an alphanumeric string, choosing from an enumerated list, or selecting a date. To insert a parameter, click Select Propertyg_V95_ParameterizeIcon.GIF.
  5. Click OK.
