Software component dependencies
This table describes the software components in the provisioning infrastructure and their dependencies.

DHCP |
Provides access to the PXE server and TFTP server for provisioning purposes. |
You can use either:

Database |
Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server database. Stores the user and system objects and relationships. |

Application Server |
BMC Server Automation Application Server. |

Console |
The BMC Server Automation Console. Provides the GUI interface to end users. |
|
File server (hardware component) |
Stores the Depot files, such as applications, BLPackages, and scripts. |
|
PXE server |
Provisions servers with operating systems and boot images. |
|
TFTP server |
Transfers preboot images to servers on request from the PXE server. |
|
Shared data store |
Stores the operating system installation media for provisioning. |
|
Web server—Typically Apache or IIS; required for provisioning Linux or ESX systems. |
Shares the data store using web server sharing. Required for provisioning Linux or ESX operating systems. |

Windows AIK |
Enables creation of WinPE images. Required for provisioning Windows preboot environments. |
