Modifying Audit Jobs

The procedure for modifying Audit Jobs has minor differences from the procedure for creating new Audit Jobs.

To modify an Audit Job

Take any of the following actions:

  • To modify the definition of an existing Audit Job, open the Jobs folder and navigate to an existing job. Right-click the job and select Open from the pop-up menu. The content editor displays a series of tabs that correspond to panels in the New Audit Job wizard. Use the tabs to modify the job definition. The following topics describe the contents of the tabs.

If you open a server object-based Audit Job that includes a custom configuration object and a more recent version of that object exists, a tab called Version Warnings appears when the Audit Job cannot be automatically upgraded to refer to the new object. In cases where the Audit Job is automatically upgraded to the new version, the console displays a message informing you of that fact. When you save the Audit Job, the upgrade to the new version of the custom configuration object is finalized.

  • To see or modify any properties, permissions, or audit trail information that apply to this job, select the Properties, Permissions, or Audit Trail tab group.

    Hi there,

is there any information about the tabs "Audit Master Tokenization Rule Sets" and "Audit Target Tokenization Rule Sets"?

I think this page is a great place to include the links.

    Best regards,

    Reinhard

These tabs only exist if the BMC Application Automation (ARA) 8.2 addon is installed, as described in https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/ara82/Creating+Audit+Jobs+for+application+components.

Please note that no further versions of this addon were developed after 8.2 and that the ARA Custom Object was removed from support for versions later than version 8.2.

But is BMC Application Automation 8.2 addon installed automatically? I never ever did this manually.

          Hi Reinhard,

          Thanks for your patience.

To the best of our knowledge, the BMC Bladelogic ARA Addon is not installed by default. You would have had to install it on top of an existing BSA.

According to the teams I consulted, by default, the tabs were displayed to all customers, regardless of addon status.

The following links on installing the addon indicate that the process is not automatic:

You perform the pre-configuration procedures, and then run the .exe file (or the relevant .bin file for Linux or Solaris) to install the addon.
