Viewing job run information through an Execution Task

The Execution Task concentrates information about the relevant job runs as they progress towards the successful completion of the job on all target servers.

To view information for the Execution Task and all its job runs

  1. Right-click the Execution Task and select Show Results. The expanded Execution Task shows all the job runs that have run under the Execution Task. This information appears in tabular form on the right, with a row for each target server.
  2. Select a job run to display basic information about the job run (as displayed for job runs under expanded jobs). This information appears in tabular form at right, with a row for each target server.

    Note

The maximum number of job runs that are displayed under the expanded Execution Task is controlled by the Page Size setting in the Preferences dialog box, with a default value of 50. If more job runs exist, you can page through the results, as described in Paging through job results.

  3. Select the Execution Task in the root node to display a tabular matrix of information that tracks the progress of the job on all target servers currently associated with the Execution Task. For each target server, the following columns of data are available:
    • Status — Overall current status of job at this target server
    • Next Schedule — Next date and time that the Execution Task is scheduled to run the job at this target server
    • specific job run (multiple columns) ---_Execution status at the target server at the end of a specific job run, with one column for each job run identified by date and time

      Note

The matrix of information about job progress on target servers is not relevant if you chose the Use job targets option on the Targets panel or if the Execution Task is associated with a Workflow Job, a Virtual Guest Job, a Provision Job, or a UCS Provision Job. Instead, basic information is displayed for all job runs. The maximum number of target servers that are displayed in the matrix is controlled by the Execution Task Matrix Page Size setting in the Preferences dialog box, with a default value of 100. If more target servers are associated with the Execution Task, you can page through the results.
