Security Content Automation Protocol

BMC Server Automation version 8.2 implements the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) from the National  Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).  The SCAP features comply with the Technical Specification for the Security Content  Automation Protocol (SCAP): Version 1.0, from NIST.

From the BMC Server Automation Console, you can import well-formed SCAP-expressed data streams from  third-party sources.  You then run SCAP Compliance Jobs to analyze selected servers against the SCAP rules and checklists.   The BMC Server Automation Console displays the results by SCAP rule and by server.

You can also export the job results to an SCAP-compliant XML file, and then view the exported file in a web browser or use it with third-party tools for reporting or other purposes.
