Enhanced Default Notifications panel with the provision to attach patch analysis results in email notifications

Starting with BMC Server Automation version 8.2, the Default Notifications panel includes the following enhancements:

Email notification settings for Patching Jobs are propagated to their child Deploy Jobs

If you select autoremediation for Patching Jobs by using the Create Remediation Artifacts option in the Default Notifications panel, the email notification settings specified for the Patching Jobs are now propagated to the child Deploy Jobs of the Patching Jobs. Also, any email notification settings specified for Patching Remediation Jobs are propagated to the child Deploy Jobs of the Patching Remediation Jobs. You no longer need to specify separate email notification settings for the child Deploy Jobs of Patching Jobs (if autoremediation has been selected for the Patching Jobs) or Patching Remediation Jobs. If you specify email notification settings for the child Deploy Jobs that are different from the settings specified for their parent Patching or Patching Remediation Jobs, those settings override the email notification settings that are specified for the parent jobs.

Email notifications for Patching Jobs include the patch analysis summary

Email notifications for Patching Jobs now append a summary of the patch analysis results.

Email notifications for Patching Jobs can include results of patch analysis as attachments

The Default Notifications panel now includes the Append patch analysis results to email check box, as shown in the following figure. To include detailed results of Patching Jobs as attachments to the email notifications, you must select this check box.

The Limit email attachment size to field is related to the Append patch analysis results to email check box. The attachments are truncated to the file size (in KB) specified in this field. The default value is 1000 KB.
