Installation sequence (Windows)

On Microsoft Windows computers, each BMC Server Automation component has a separate installation. You must install the components in the following sequence:

  1. RSCD agent (You must install an RCSD agent on each server that BMC Server Automation manages.)
  2. BMC Server Automation Application Server and Network Shell
  3. PXE and TFTP servers
  4. BMC Server Automation Console

The components can be installed on a single server or on separate servers for scalability.

Notes

Depending on the order in which you install components, installation steps might differ for each component. For example, you can select the installation directory only when you install the first BMC Server Automation component. All other components are installed in the same directory.
