    Hello,

I found in the internet an interesting manual labeled Patrol Parameter Reference.  Its content is a simple collection of all parameters independently of the source with short description .  It is useful and helps to set up a baroc file to translate all parameters in a understandable language  to the operator/analyst that will receive the alerts.

Would be possible have this manual added in this page?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi ya,

there are some issues with the BMC PATROL for Microsoft SQL Server 9.6.00 documents: -

    • the CSV link downloads an .xlsx file
    • the HTML link downloads an .htm file which refers elsewhere (i.e. empty)

Apart from that, it's nice to have all the documents here in one place (smile)

The Parameter Reference Database documents look like old wine in the new bottle. When you open the document for the latest version, it still shows 2 or 3 releases behind. Please update the documents with the latest enhancements.

I exported a CSV file format of the Siebel KM from the PRD and noticed that it has duplicated every parameter in the CSV file.  This does not seem to be case when I generate a PDF file format.  Shweta, can you please take a look at this?  Thanks, Taylor

In reference to KPI indicators the "PATROL Knowledge Module for UNIX" does not include the KPI indicator. I have downloaded most of the *csv files and found discrepancies in may of them. The csv file for "PATROL for Linux" indicates 25 KPI's yet when viewed in the TSPS console is see 40+ KPI's by default. The contents of the headers in the CSV files also differ from on file to the next. We need to rely on the information from this site. When can these issues be addressed?

    May 09, 2018 10:22
    1. Shweta Patil

Thank you for your comments, Cole. I checked the KPI attributes in the product and compared them with the documentation. The documentation looks okay.

This seems to be a different issue. Please open a ticket with BMC customer support to resolve this and your remaining issues/queries.

      Thanks,
      Shweta

Is there a command line utility or API that will allow me to export the configuration of the Global Thresholds for all of the listed KM's. We would like the ability to dump the configuration changes to a file for review, backup, and to allow automation and tracking of the configurations.

  19. Cole Cather

Is there a command line utility or API that will allow me to export the configuration of which parameters in a KM are ACTIVE and which ones have been designated as a KPI? This may be redundant to my other question but I want to be able to export all config changes for review and for backup. The previous request was from the viewpoint of the Global Thresholds this request is from the KM perspective.

Is there a method to import/export the Global Threshold settings from one environment (Development/Test that is a completely separate environment) to a Production instance? We would like to set up and test the Threshold settings in our Dev/Test environment before updating our Production environment.

Can you do something about the naming of the KM's? The names are not consistent across the KM's or how they are called in various places within the BMC toolsets. For instance listed above is the "PATROL Knowledge Module for UNIX" but when referred within TSPS Console -> Configuration -> Global Thresholds it is displayed as "Unix and Linux - HP-UX and Linux" and also as "Unix and Linux - Solaris and AIX". Another example is the "PATROL for Scripting" KM listed above but in the same TSPS Console it is listed as "Scripting". These are but a few of the naming issues I am seeing across the product where it is referred to as one thing one place and something else in another.
