Status of Replicator Service (RpServiceStatus)
Monitors the status of the Directory Replicator Service running on the PATROL Agent server. Alarms when the service is not available.
Note
The Status of Replicator Service monitor type in BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management is referred as the RpServiceStatus application class in BMC PATROL.
Recommendations
If this parameter displays an alarm:
- For Windows NT 4.0 systems, open the Service Control Manager from the Control Panel.
For Windows 2000 systems, open Component Services from the Administrative Tools menu. - Look at the Status column for the Replicator service to find out if the status is "Started."
- If the status is not "Started," attempt to start the service.
- If the service does not start, start the Event Viewer and examine the System Event Log. The System Event Log contains entries for services that fail to start.
- Find and examine the entry for the Replicator service that failed to start. The entry may contain information that indicates why the service did not start.
- Try to correct the problem based on the information found in the Event Log entry.
- Attempt to start the service again.
If you cannot get the Replicator service to start, consider rebooting your system. If rebooting does not help, contact Microsoft Support: http://support.microsoft.com/directory/
