Menu commands

When a Knowledge Module (KM) is loaded, its associated menu commands are added to the KM area of a menu. The KM area is below the horizontal line on the menu. Menu commands above the line belong to the PATROL Console. The KM commands for the PATROL for IBM WebSphere Application Server application classes are added to the menus below the horizontal line. The menus explained in this section are associated with the primary application classes for the IBM WebSphere Application Server KM. Each application class name begins with PMW.

PATROL for IBM WebSphere Application Server includes the following KM menu commands:

PMW_MAIN

Register WebSphere Server

Dialog box used to configure WebSphere for monitoring.

PMW_MAIN Debug

PSL Debug On

Enables Knowledge Module's main PSL debugging module.

Note

Because enabling PSL debug can consume a lot of disk space, BMC recommends that you turn it off, unless required for debugging.

PSL Debug Off

Disable Knowledge Module's main PSL debugging module.

PMW_ENVIRONMENT

Edit WebSphere Environment

Dialog box used to edit (Modify) the Knowledge Module's configuration for monitoring WebSphere.

Unregister WebSphere Environment

Unregisters (Removes) monitoring of a specified WebSphere system.

KM Administration -> Force Discovery

Causes the Java collector to rediscover the WebSphere landscape.

KM Administration -> PMI Diagnostics report

Generates an XML based report that shows which PMI modules and instances are exposed by the monitored WebSphere system.

KM Administration -> Restart The Java Collector

Forces the java admin client to restart

A restart is sometimes required following a WebSphere configuration change.

KM Administration -> Instance Mapping Report

Generates an XML based report that maps WebSphere cell, node, server, and application instances into unique BPPM instance names.

Blackout Configuration -> Schedule Blackout Periods

Main dialog box for configuring blackout periods on all servers and node agents on the given cell.

Blackout Configuration -> Configured Blackout Report

Generates a report of all blackout periods for the given cell.

Custom MBean -> Activate Custom MBean

Dialog box used to configure monitoring conditions for values of MBean attributes.

Custom MBean -> Deactivate Custom MBean

Dialog box used to removeconfigurationof monitoring conditions for values of MBean attributes.
