User goals and features

PATROL for SAP HANA provides a detailed view of the Oracle database activity over time so that you can detect problems, optimize systems, analyze trends, plan capacity, and manage multiple hosts simultaneously.

An overview of how various users will work with this product is provided in the following table.

Administrator

Administrators are responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining the PATROL for SAP HANA KM implementation.

Some of the tasks executed by an Administrator are:

  • Install and upgrade the product
  • Create users or configure the KM, create and assign roles and access groups to users
  • Ensure that the PATROL for SAP HANA environment remains healthy over time, and uses the self-monitoring capabilities provided by the KM

End User

End Users of PATROL for SAP HANA can represent a variety of different roles, such as IT Operations user, Technology Specialist, and Solution Administrator.

They usually do not execute tasks on PATROL for SAP HANA, but rather access and consume results of the KM, such as PATROL for SAP HANA reports or graphs.
