Creating host and virtual machine reports in environment

In BMC PATROL for Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager, you can access several reports that enable you to access inventory data and performance data of the clusters, hosts and virtual machines contained in the Virtual Machine Manager enterprise.

Creating the Top Hosts report

You can use the Top Hosts menu command to view report that lists the top hosts and those hosts' connected virtual machines that are using the most CPU and memory resources. The data contained in the report is organized first by the host connection with its virtual machines listed below.

  1. Access the SCV_CLUSTER application class menu as described in Accessing KM menu commands.
  2. Choose the Top Hosts menu command to display the Top Hosts using the maximum CPU and memory resources. You can view this report in the System Output Window. The figure shows sample Top Hosts report:

Creating the Top virtual machines report

You can use the Top Virtual Machines menu command to create and save a report that lists the top virtual machines that are using the most CPU resources.

  1. Access the SCV_HOST application class menu as described in Accessing KM menu commands.
