Configuring Virtual Machine Manager monitor type
This topic provides information about configuring the Virtual Machine Manager by using Central Monitoring Administration.
On the Add Monitor Types dialog, with the Monitoring Profile set to Virtual Machine Manager, and the Monitor Type set to Virtual Machine Manager monitoring, provide the following details:

| VMM Details | |
| VMM Server Name | Enter the name of the VMM server. |
| User Name | Enter the username used to connect to the VMM host. |
| Password | Enter the password corresponding to the username. |
| Confirm Password | Re-enter the password. |
| WinRM Port Number | Enter WinRM port number for VMM server. |
| Connection Protocol | Select the protocol that will be used for connection. By default, HTTP protocol is used for connection or you can select HTTPS protocol for connection. |

| Host Groups | Enter the group name or a valid regular expression to filter host groups. For example: Sales 1|Sales 2|Sales 3|Sales 4 or ^Sales\W+\d Note If you enter a regular expression to include or exclude a host group, all the clusters, hosts and virtual machines under that host group are included or excluded from monitoring. |
| Filter Type | Select to Include or Exclude the host group from monitoring. |
| Clusters | Enter the cluster name or a valid regular expression to filter clusters. For example: india.abc.com or .abc.com$ Note If you enter a regular expression to include or exclude a cluster, all hosts and virtual machines under that cluster are included or excluded from monitoring. |

| Hosts | Enter the host name or a valid regular expression to filter hosts. For example: ^production$ Note If you enter a regular expression to include or exclude a host, all virtual machines under that host are included or excluded from monitoring. |
| Filter Type | Select to Include or Exclude the host from monitoring. |
| VMs | Enter the virtual machine name or a valid regular expression to filter virtual machines. For example: vm-a |vm-b|vm-c or vm-[abc] |
| Filter Type | Select to Include or Exclude virtual machine from monitoring. |
| Add to List | Click this option for confirming the configuration information that you provided and adding the host name to the list of configured hosts. |
| Modify Selection | Select one of the items that you added to the list in the preceding step, and click this option to modify details. |
| Remove from List | Select one of the items that you added to the list in the preceding step, and click this option to remove configuration details. |
