Enabling automatic recovery

  1. Right-click (Windows) or hold down MB3 (Unix) on the server instance.
    The application menu is displayed.
  2. For Unix systems, select the PATROL Admin KM command; then select Configure > Local from the menu.
For Windows systems, select KM Commands > PATROL Admin > Configure > Local.
The Configure dialog box is displayed for the specified server instance.
  3. Select Automatic Recovery.
  4. For Unix systems, type the appropriate information in the OS Account field to ensure that BMC PATROL for Internet Servers has sufficient privileges to restart a monitored server instance.
For Windows systems, you do not need to enter OS account information.
  5. Select Accept to save the entry and close the dialog box.
For Unix systems, you will then be prompted for the password for that user account.
