Manage Filesystems dialog box

You can use this dialog box to specify which file systems in your environment should be excluded from monitoring.

This dialog box is applicable to BMC PATROL Console only.

Configuration details

To access this dialog box, right-click the AIX OS node and expand Storage > Filsystems node, right-click KM Commands > Manage Filesystems. This dialog box contains the following items:

Exclude Filesystems

Enter the filesystem name or a regular expression to exclude filesystems from monitoring. To exclude multiple filesystems, enter a comma separated list of regular expressions. To exclude the root filesystem use the ^/$ regular expression.

If the rules are equally specific (if you exclude a file, and include the same file) then exclude takes precedence over include.

Include Filesystems

Enter the filesystem name or a regular expression to include filesystems for monitoring. To include multiple filesystems, enter a comma separated list of regular expressions. To include the root filesystem use the ^/$ regular expression.

Note: The filesystem monitor type enables monitoring of the following filesystems by default.

  • ^/$ (root)
  • ^/tmp$ (tmp)
  • ^/usr$ (usr)
  • ^/home$ (home)

Ignore NFS Filesystems

Select this check box to exclude network filesystem instances from monitoring.

Ignore CD-ROM Filesystems

Select this check box to exclude CD-ROM filesystem instances from monitoring.

Ignore proc Filesystems

Select this check box to exclude proc filesystem instances from monitoring.
/proc is a virtual file system that contains images of the processes that are currently running in your environment. /proc file systems are usually used for debugging purposes.

Ignore Other Filesystems

Select this check box if you want to exclude other types of file systems from monitoring. 
If you select this option, you must enter a list of file system types in the text field.

Ignore Persistence for NFS FilesystemsSelect this checkbox to remove the existing unmounted network filesystem instances.
Ignore Persistence for CD-ROM FilesystemsSelect this checkbox to remove the existing unmounted CD-ROM filesystem instances.
Ignore Persistence for PROC FilesystemsSelect this checkbox to remove the existing unmounted PROC filesystem instances.
Ignore Persistence for Other Filesystems

Select this checkbox to remove the other types of unmounted filesystem instances.

If you select this option, you must enter a list of file system types in the text field.

Apply

Click this button to save the changes that you made in this dialog box.

Cancel

Click this button to close the dialog box.
