Viewing an OS Image History report

The OS Image History report displays the history of OS images installed on a device. The report includes OS image history for images installed internal or external to the BMC Network Automation system.

To generate an OS Image History report

  1. Open the OS Image History Report wizard page by navigating to Reports > Activity Reports > OS Image History.

  2. Enter the following information in the displayed fields:

    Field or link

    Description

    Network Span

    Select a network span for the report. Select one of the following options:

    • Entire Network
    • Realm: Select one of the defined realms.
    • Group: Select one of the defined realms, and then select a group.
    • Device: Select one of the defined realms, and then select a device.

    Filter Devices

    Click to open the Device Filter dialog box and select a specific device or set of devices.

    View Devices

    Click to view the selected devices after using the Filter Devices option.

    Time Period

    Specify the time frame to report OS Image versions. Select Since Trusted to display changes to the OS image since detecting discrepancies from the trusted Running configuration. Select Range to enter a specific start and end date/time.

    Vendor

    (Optional) Restrict the OS image history to a specific vendor. You can also restrict to vendors not matching your selection.

    OS Image Name

    (Optional) Restrict the OS image history to a specific image name. You can also restrict to image names not matching your selection. For example, to display all Cisco devices running OS Image 12.1(3), C1700-Y-M, enter Cisco as the Vendor and the Image Name. You can use wildcards "*" for the image Name. To display all Cisco devices not running OS Image 12.1(3), C1700-Y-M, select Not Matching this Name.

  3. Click Next to display the OS Image History report for the selected parameters.

  4. (Optional): Perform one of the following tasks by using the menu options that are available on the OS Image History Report page:

    Print ViewPrint a copy of the report.
    Export

    Export the report to one of the following formats:

    • CSV
      Note: This format is available only when you generate the report in tabular format. Also, when you open a CSV exported file with Microsoft Excel, the date fields might not appear formatted correctly as they appear in the CSV file. As a workaround, you might want to use a different application, such as text editor to work with the CSV file.
    • HTML
    • PDF
    • RTF
    EmailEmail the report to one or more recipients in one of the export formats.
