BMC Network Automation supports the following features specific to management of the Cisco Data Center Services Node:

  • Automated discovery and initial configuration of each Cisco Firewall Service Module and Cisco Application Control Engine (ACE) module in a Cisco Data Center Services Node
  • Out-of-the-box transparent and routed end-to-end VLAN design templates
  • Out-of-the-box network path configuration when provisioning web, exchange, and SQL servers
  • Central management of Cisco 6500, Cisco ACE, and Cisco Firewall Service Module

The following features extend to the rest of the data center:

  • Integrating with BMC Server Automation Suite or UCS Manager
  • Extending to full cloud management and ecosystem

  • Enabling users to perform network change and compliance tasks with business service context through its integration with BMC Atrium Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
  • Enabling users to track and approve network changes through BMC Remedy Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) Change Management system
  • Allowing organizations to automatically open Incident tickets in BMC Remedy ITSM Incident Management system when network change events are detected
  • Implementing a reliable snapshot and recovery process
  • Proactively assessing and reporting service impacting changes
  • Automation of configuration rollback, configuration updates, and standards enforcement by SmartMerge Technology
  • Support for the change workflow process that subjects change requests to review and approval
